They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to join their Singapore office. The Finance Manager will play a crucial, hands-on role within the organisation, being responsible for all financial aspects of the Singapore office, and its portfolio of companies, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. The successful candidate will also manage financial reporting, monitor cash flow, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making. This role will work closely with the US-based team.

Role Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Assist in developing and managing the annual budget and long-term financial plans

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs

Financial Reporting

  • Manage and oversee external accountants in the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and other financial reporting

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Cost Management

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements

  • Monitor and control expenses to align with budgetary goals

Risk Management

  • Assess and manage financial risks, including market and credit risks

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies

Tax Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements

  • Optimise tax strategies to minimise tax liabilities

Financial Strategy and Decision Support

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions

  • Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial impact of business initiatives

Audit and Compliance

  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits

  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures

Team Liaison

  • Ensure team cohesion amongst the Singapore office, external providers, and the US office

  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications:

  • 10+ years of accounting experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree, ACCA or CPA/CA preferred).

  • Prior experience with a family office is desirable

  • Prior back-office experience is desirable

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, attributes, and values:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar financial management role

  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices

  • A solid understanding of Singapore’s Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), compliance requirements imposed by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and Singapore tax regulations

  • Knowledge of fund accounting and business structuring is desirable

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and financial modelling

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Attention to detail, exhibiting a high level of accuracy

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Ethical and professional conduct

  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Strong proficiency in written and verbal business English
